Subnautica complete!

And we’re done with subnautica! what a ride! I originally wrote this game off because it was based underwater and I believe I suffer from thalassophobia which is the fear of submerged objects. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been freaked out about things submerged underwater from seaweed to fish to the idea of whales. From a recommendation by a close friend, I decided to pick this one up and attempt to get through it. What’s to be scared about? what drew me in essentially was the story, the idea that it wasn’t one of those survival games that didn’t have any story behind it and just wanted you to play in the sandbox. The game starts off relatively easy, diving down 20 meters or so, eventually working your way down and down once you build better stuff. After you get over your original fear and have had your first encounter with these horrible ‘fish’ called reapers, things start to level out. The base building in this game is very satisfying, feels very futuristic and you get to do all sorts of things with your magic lasers. The story evolves and you get deeper underwater as your tech advances, this really is the ultimate in immersive experiences and I couldn’t recommend it enough, especially to people who think they are scared of the sea like I am.
